Do you believe that life should be filled with laughter, learning, and maybe even a little bit of dancing? At our Someren Glen Community, we’re searching for a Director of Community Life who can turn everyday moments into extraordinary memories for our skilled nursing and assisted living residents.
This role isn’t just about planning activities—it’s about building a thriving community life where every resident feels seen, celebrated, and connected. From creating programs rooted in the principles of successful aging to curating joyful experiences like storytelling circles, live music, art workshops, and spontaneous dance parties, you’ll be the heart of our community’s rhythm. This roles serves on the Community Leadership Team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing and leading vibrant, person-centered programs that keep minds sharp, spirits high, and bodies moving.
Inspiring, mentoring, and supporting a talented team of Community Life staff.
Partnering with residents, families, and team members to bring joy and meaning to daily living.
Overseeing calendars, newsletters, and special events that showcase the passions of our community.
Ensuring programs meet all the right standards (while keeping the fun front and center!).
What You Bring:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
2+ years leading programs with seniors (skilled nursing/assisted living a plus!).
Knowledge of healthy living and wellness for older adults (physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual).
2–4 years of supervisory experience with proven leadership and change-management skills.
A knack for event planning and the ability to pivot quickly when plans shift.
Tech-savvy and comfortable using social media to share stories and happenings.
Valid driver’s license (yes, sometimes you’ll drive the community bus on fun outings!).
Excellent written and verbal communication—and above all, a people-first mindset.
