Overview

Responsible for a variety of clinical and technical tasks as directed by the Section Manager. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations. Demonstrates commitment to maintaining and improving departmental/unit standards.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient sensory and motor functions, computerized vision therapy and other various orthoptic duties as directed by the physicians. Perform diplopia evaluation, assist in the treatment of amblyopia and convergence insufficiency. Educate patients and families.
  • Performs special ophthalmological services. Prepares and maintains the equipment for these services.
  • Provides supportive patient care.
  • Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
  • Assist in the education of Ophthalmology Residents and Ophthalmology clinical support staff
  • Assist in the development and execution of research projects for the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelors degree plus certification as an Orthoptist from a recognized Program is necessary to demonstrate the abilities required to competently execute the duties of this position (6 years total education min).
  • No experience necessary.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.70/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
