The staff occupational therapist functions under the general supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy. The staff occupational therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides occupational therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures and within the scope of practice for occupational therapists. The therapist provides care for patients with delays or other alterations in health requiring the skilled assessment, evaluation, and intervention by an occupational therapist to promote functional independence. The occupational therapist takes into consideration the functional, psychological, medical, cultural, social, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient and maintains the highest degree of quality patient care. A staff occupational therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) and may be assigned to orient staff and students.

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $36.64/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
