Overview

Implements programs to meet the educational and learning needs of Critical Care unit professional staff and orientees. Markets courses to providers around the Kansas City region. Assures Critical Care unit staff demonstrate and validate competency in unit-specific skills, as well as hospital and department mandatory education requirements.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Meets the educational and informational needs of Children's Mercy staff, physicians, students, and community
  • Participates in the operational leadership of the department with the department director and medical director
  • Assist others to utilize evidence based practices in order to provide safe, high quality care for patients and families

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years experience Experience may include Medical simulation, other simulation modalities, clinical experience, and/or adult education
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, Licensed Respiratory Therapist MO required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, Licensed Respiratory Therapist KS required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • RNs who reside in Missouri hold a Missouri Multi-State (Compact) License Current professional license in Missouri and Kansas Required 90 Days
  • RNs who reside in Kansas hold a Kansas Multi-State (Compact) License Current professional license in Missouri and Kansas Required 90 Days
  • RESP THER LIC KS Licensed Respiratory Therapist KS Current professional license in Missouri and Kansas Required 90 Days
  • RESP THER LIC MO Licensed Respiratory Therapist MO Current professional license in Missouri and Kansas Required 90 Days
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • PALS or NRP instructor – within one year of hire Required 1 Year
  • Professional specialty certification Preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $33.23/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
