InnovateEDU is looking for a Policy Intern to assist with its 2025 policy priorities by engaging in research, writing, and analysis related to education policy and data.
Responsibilities: Conduct legislative scans, track rulemakings, draft policy briefs, summarize meetings, and support coalition-building efforts.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, effective time management, proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills.
Qualifications: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from public policy, education, or related fields; prior policy experience preferred.
Location: This position is remote but is preferred for candidates in or around Brooklyn, New York; internship can be done from anywhere in the USA.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $15 - $25.

Schedule
This is a remote, unpaid position with an expected schedule of approximately 20 hours per week. The Policy Intern is expected to develop a set schedule at the beginning of their internship and have it approved by the Policy Associate. The internship duration is typically one semester and can be extended. InnovateEDU is happy to support responsibilities and expectations for course credit supervision so that the internship may be used for practicum, course, or capstone credit. Upon request, letters of recommendation will be written for those who have demonstrated dedication and contributed successfully to the organization
