DEI Programs and Initiatives
As a member of the NLU community, we encourage you to take advantage of our diversity and inclusion initiatives. We require that all employees take the “DEI in the Workplace” training course as an introduction to unconscious bias, microaggressions, and creating inclusive environments. Faculty and staff may participate in our DEI Council as a way to build a shared understanding across the institution around why diversity, equity, and inclusion are important while monitoring and amplifying the execution of established DEI priorities. Our employees also have access to various Interest Based Groups (IBGs) that are focused on building a culture of inclusion and innovation while providing more positive workplace experiences and professional support. Lastly, to gauge our effectiveness in maintaining an inclusive and equitable workplace, we facilitate Employee Experience Interviews to prioritize understanding how can improve our practices for current and future employees.
