SUMMARY
This is a professional position that provides support for the range of CRTPO initiatives. It is a hybrid position with regular in office hours and work from home hours.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct data collection, analysis, and research of best practices in support of key staff members and the preparation of core transportation planning products.
Assist with processing and formatting datasets into accessible, presentation-ready formats as well is importing data across platforms and data entry tasks.
Research and prepare components for staff reports in support of the CRTPO’s Technical Coordinating Committee and Policy Board.
Support staff with analysis and content review for various initiatives including the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, Discretionary Grants Program, Beyond 77, and the preparation of safety action plans.
Develop and present clear, engaging materials—including graphics, maps, and written documents—to communicate transportation projects, plans, and programs to the public and other stakeholders.
Assist with the coordination of public meetings, events and workshops logistics.
Assist staff in meeting setup and logistics, including audio/visual technology, and completing meeting summary minutes.
Assist in public involvement activities, including working with the CRTPO webmaster on revisions and updates to the organization’s webpage.

Some night and weekend work may be required on a periodic basis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The position requires basic knowledge of transportation planning and regional planning concepts, Census demographic data and computer software proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of an MPO.
Effective communication, both verbal and in writing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, ability to use ArcGIS Pro and familiarity with the geodatabase data model is required.
Excellent public speaking and customer service skills.
Ability to collaborate within and outside the organization to achieve positive impacts on the region.
Ability to perform effectively and efficiently with moderate level of supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year professional planning experience required. A master’s degree in planning, engineering, geography, landscape architecture, or public administration may be substituted for experience.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, ability to use ArcGIS Pro and familiarity with the geodatabase data model.
Ability to conduct content-rich presentations before various stakeholder types and sizes, including the CRTPO Board, Technical Coordinating Committee, and at public events.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in planning, engineering, architecture, geography, landscape architecture, political science, public administration, social science or related degree.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
