Capital One is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Sr. Audit Manager interested in becoming part of our Risk Management Audit team. As a member of the Audit team, the candidate will have the opportunity to perform professional internal auditing work on audits of Second Line Risk Management, including areas such as Risk and Control Methodology, Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, Issue and Event Management, and Third Party Risk Management. This role will be hired as a Capital One associate with a near-term focus on audit execution and delivery for Discover Financial Services as part of our integration effort.
Responsibilities:
Plan, perform, and lead large/complex audits or projects of Second Line Risk Management at the enterprise level, as well as other diverse lines of business and specialty areas.
Design and perform audit procedures to assess enterprise-wide risk governance frameworks and verify the effectiveness of internal controls, document auditee processes and procedures, review and analyze evidence, and identify potential issues.
Provide input into the development of the annual audit plan.
Leverage available data and analytical tools during the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of audit delivery.
Establish and maintain working relationships with internal teams and external management.
Effectively communicate the results of audit projects to management (written reports/oral presentations).
Manage direct reports and project resources during audit engagements, providing feedback on work performed, as appropriate.

Travel Expectations:
The associate will be expected to travel an average of 10-15% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
At least 7 years of experience in auditing, risk management, or a combination.
At least 5 years of experience in leading audits and performing in the role of auditor-in-charge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Master’s Degree in Finance or Master of Business Administration.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) certification, or Operational Resilience Certification, or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP).
10+ years of experience in auditing one or a combination of the following areas: risk management, consumer compliance, banking or financial services.
5+ years of experience in banking or in financial services.
1+ years of experience with data analytics tools in support of internal auditing.

This role is hybrid meaning associates will spend 3 days per week in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Charlotte, NC: $155,300 - $177,200 for Audit Sr. Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
