Then this might be the role for you! We are Authorizations Processing, and we’ve traditionally relied on third party vendors to support the processing of credit card transactions. We are changing the status quo and building the ability to process card authorizations at Capital One, unlocking innovation and value for our business. This is where you come in! This Product Manager is a part of our team building a new platform focused on Authorization Processing, and the person must be skilled at both the whitespace discovery & design, as well as the executional delivery.
The Capital One Authorization Processing Team is looking for an exceptional Product Manager who will help define and deliver the new Auth Processing platform strategy:
Further refine a compelling product vision for capabilities that deliver breakthrough business value and make it easy for our internal consumers to access, use, and build on.
Establish and maintain product roadmaps and an agile delivery operational structure in partnership with Tech that is efficient, transparent, and flexible.
Build and maintain strong relationships and feedback loops with upstream and downstream stakeholders across the enterprise who manage the product/credit strategy and intent, downstream processes, technology, controls, and customer-facing experiences that depend on the capabilities and performance of the holistic platform.
General areas of responsibility:
Partner with world class software engineers to design, deliver, and sustain new patterns and capabilities to reimagine how we use the capabilities and modernize how we fulfill on decisions for use cases across the broader organization
Deliver a critical high-visibility use case as the Auth Processing platform debut
Understand upstream and downstream consumer / client needs and use those insights to power a value-generating use case roadmap
Lead an aggressive, transparent, & calculated modernization agenda that builds the Authorization Processing platform from the ground up in the AWS cloud and leveraging enterprise tech best practices
Consider extreme platform resilience, performance and cyber posture of the technology including items like prioritizing Enterprise Tech Backlog (ETB) initiatives and adhering to strict SLAs for data speed and decisioning responses to end users trying to spend on our credit cards
Socialize concerns, risks, and recommendations; obtain buy-in from appropriate stakeholders; generously share context and prioritization decisions
Identify the right acceptance criteria and test cases; proactively partner with appropriate domain stakeholders to ensure the technology works holistically
Additionally:
You will be involved in shaping and contributing to the overall card authorizations capabilities by seeking and applying insights from dependent platforms, apps, and segments - moving from concepts to prototypes and prototypes to scalable solutions.
You will develop hypotheses, build MVPs, and run pilots determining product, feature, and capability fit and value.
You will be a part of overall thought leadership around platform development at the intersection of data+biz analysis+product+tech for the sake of creating meaningful, measurable business and customer value.
You will collaborate with an extended team beyond the card auths organization

Basic Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience working in Product Management
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
