Job Description
Manager, Strategic Sourcing Operations
We’re looking for a Manager of Strategic Sourcing Operations to lead sourcing strategies that deliver value, manage risk, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. In this role, you’ll oversee procurement operations, manage vendor relationships, and support the academic, research, and administrative needs of the university. This function will have a direct line to the Director of Purchase and Travel Solutions with a dotted line to the Managing Director of Dining Services.
What you’ll do in this position:
• Lead daily procurement operations and provide direction on sourcing strategy.
• Build and manage vendor relationships, contracts, and sourcing initiatives.
• Oversee complex projects, including large equipment and new construction.
• Negotiate and manage major contracts to ensure compliance and cost savings.
• Drive process improvements across purchasing and travel offices.
*Please note this position requires 2-4 weeks of travel per year.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
• 8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
• Experience with domestic and international sourcing.
• Knowledge of procurement laws, compliance, and contract management.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree.
• Experience in higher education, government, or non-profit procurement.
• Familiarity with systems such as Workday, EATEC/Agilysis, or GPOs.
• Relevant certifications (CPSM, CPPO, CPPB).

Typical Starting Pay: $89,500-$116,00
