Company:
The Boeing CompanyWe are Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T): Boeing's global research and development team creating and implementing innovative technologies that make the impossible possible and enabling the future of aerospace. We are engineers and technicians, skilled scientists, and bold innovators; Join us and put your passion, determination, and skill to work building the future! #TheFutureIsBuiltHere #ChangeTheWorld
We are seeking an Associate or Experienced Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach, California with experience in the development of mission systems for space and airborne platforms to support and lead development of next generation electronics for optical sensing systems from conceptual design through operation prototypes on multiple programs.
The person selected for this role will be expected to design and simulate algorithm performance and then convert the algorithms into hardware systems for test and verification. Specifically targeted technical skills include digital signals processing for sensing applications; embedded software development; algorithm design and simulation; FPGA implementation with VHDL and/or Verilog; and familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink.
We are looking for a broad range of experience including Associate or Experienced FPGA Design Engineers.
This position is part of the rapidly growing Electro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team within BR&T. The EO/IR Mission Systems (EMS) team has more than quadrupled in size over the past 3 years due to new contract wins and continues to see increased demand from Boeing’s customers. We’re designing, building, and testing cutting edge sensor systems for airborne and space platforms. Our focus is always on the mission – connecting people through safer air travel and protection of the warfighter from its adversaries. This isn’t your typical Boeing team – we are focused on the entire lifecycle of design: from modeling and simulation of new ideas, through prototype demonstrations, and eventually transitioning to production systems.
Our team provides complete engineering solutions to Boeing and its customers, including systems engineering, optics design, mechanical design, algorithms, software development, firmware development, electronics, and advanced system modeling and simulations. If you’re interested in working in a fast-paced environment while taking a design from clean sheet of paper through flight demonstration, ideally with some technology that’s never been flown before, then this is the group for you!
