Senior Software Engineer – Media Validation & Diagnostics
Skills
- Deep experience with media pipelines, codecs, or graphics systems
- Proven background in debugging and diagnostics engineering (runtime validation, logging, trace tooling)
- Systems programming experience near OS, drivers, runtimes, or performance-sensitive code paths
- Ability to analyze low-level failures and craft clear, actionable developer feedback
- Experience collaborating across engineering teams to improve platform tooling and developer experience
- Strong problem-solving skills with a prevention-focused mindset
Responsibilities
- Design and implement media-focused validation layers and runtime diagnostics for media and codec usage
- Identify common misuse patterns, failure modes, and configuration errors in media pipelines and surface them with clear warnings and errors
- Develop actionable error messages, logging, and traceability to help developers self-diagnose issues
- Improve diagnostic coverage and observability across complex media and graphics workflows
- Collaborate with media, graphics, and developer support teams to understand recurring bug categories and pain points
- Validate diagnostics and tooling against real-world applications, drivers, and reproduction scenarios
- Create developer-friendly guidance, examples, and recommended debugging workflows
- Measure success through reduced bug volume, improved issue quality, and faster resolution times
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
