Account Manager - Branded Promotional Merchandise

BDA is a leading global merchandise agency known for creative promotional programs and strong client partnerships. They seek an energetic, client-focused Account Manager to manage and grow relationships, recommend merchandise solutions, coordinate internal teams, and ensure on-time, on-spec delivery while meeting sales and retention goals.

Skills

  • Proven sales and account management skills with strong client relationship management
  • Experience in promotional products or merchandising industry
  • Project management and order coordination abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong negotiation, financial acumen and margin/discount calculations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Creative problem solving and ability to generate out-of-the-box merchandise ideas

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and build long-term relationships
  • Understand client objectives, budgets and timelines to recommend tailored promotional merchandise solutions
  • Prepare proposals, presentations and competitive quotes that showcase value and align with client brand goals
  • Facilitate order process from ideation through delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, production, logistics, purchasing, client service) to deliver on spec
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities and execute strategic account plans
  • Monitor client satisfaction, resolve issues, and conduct post-order follow-ups to gather feedback
  • Manage contact and opportunity database and meet or exceed assigned sales targets and forecasts
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape and product innovations

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred
  • No specific degree required—emphasis on relevant industry experience and proven results
