Purpose of the role

To design, develop, implement, and support mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models and analytics used in business decision-making

Accountabilities

• Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.
• Collaboration with technology to specify any dependencies required for analytical solutions, such as data, development environments and tools.
• Development of high performing, comprehensively documented analytics and modelling solutions, demonstrating their efficacy to business users and independent validation teams.
• Implementation of analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalise them.
• Provision of ongoing support for the continued effectiveness of analytics and modelling solutions to users.
• Demonstrate conformance to all Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly Model Risk Policy.
• Ensure all development activities are undertaken within the defined control environment.

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Market Risk Model Developer AVP in New York, New York (multiple positions available):

• Design and implement solid risk models and/or extensions to existing ones, and deliver in dynamic, agile, and often ambiguous contexts.

• Maintain and enhance existing Market Risk Engine (MRE) framework and FRTB (Fundamental Review of Trading Book) calculators and integrate new FRTB IMA (Internal Models

• Approach) functionality into it; work with partners in IT and Risk Engineering teams to integrate the systems.

• Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.

• Implementation of analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalize them.

• Maintain current risk applications and models, including Barclays’ Market Risk Engine (MRE) framework.

• Work with colleagues to support Risk, Front Office and IT users of Barclays’ analytics.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $173,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $190,300 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
