Overview:
A profitable regional CPA firm is seeking a Tax Senior to join its growing team. This role offers a fast track for career progression, a diverse portfolio of clients (including SEC and closely-held companies across various industries), and a strong emphasis on a reasonable work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations.
- Assume full responsibility for larger, more complex business tax returns and client service relationships.
- Delegate tasks to and manage the work of tax preparers and staff accountants.
- Act as a resource for staff on complex tax issues and questions.
- Participate in client meetings and tax planning efforts.
- Manage governmental tax examinations and represent clients before taxing authorities.
- Ensure the accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all tax returns.
- Participate in firm practice development and community/industry activities.
- Supervise, develop, coach, and train Semi-Senior and Staff accountants.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
- Master's degree in taxation is preferred.
Experiences
- Minimum of two years of experience in public accounting with proven progression in tax complexity and research.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
- Familiarity with US domestic and international tax compliance for HNW individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations.
Other
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced technical tax skills.
- Strong client service and communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $80,000 - $130,000 per year
- Benefits: Excellent benefits package including overtime paid at time-and-a-half, performance bonuses, and a 5% employer contribution to the 401(k) program.
