Who You'll Work With

When you join Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team, you're not just stepping into a role; you're becoming part of a team of industry experts and technical leaders. Typically reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you'll be working alongside some of the most skilled field engineers in the industry. Our team prides itself on not just understanding the technology but also the business impact and aligning our solutions with the larger goals of our clients. In collaboration with our Product Management and Software Development teams, you will play a pivotal role in steering product developments, offerings, and strategic direction to best serve our customers and prospects. Supported by the expertise of our world class Arista TAC, cutting-edge proof-of-concept resources, and support of the executive team, you are well-positioned to lead and innovate within the industry.

What You’ll Do

Arista seeks an Advanced Services Engineer to provide advanced technical, product, and solution support, guidance, and assistance to account teams, addressing specific customer needs. In this position, you will serve as a technology expert responsible for solutions’ design, implementation, and account support in various areas, including but not limited to DC, Campus, and WAN. The ideal candidate will also have a level of comfort communicating across all functions within Arista, as well as with clients and partners.

  • You will provide advanced technical and solution support for Arista's Data Center and Campus networking deployments for our enterprise and commercial customers
  • Translate complex business requirements into Network Solutions
  • Provide customer advice on architectural questions, product prerequisites, and product features.
  • Define and review customer architectural network designs and make recommendations for deployment
  • Assist customers in deploying and operating Arista’s Network solutions
  • Migrate or interconnect to/from Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, and other vendors to the Arista infrastructure
  • Assist with configuration build-outs, including creating a network DevOps framework.
  • Drive the proof of concepts (POC) and in-depth testing to validate the design scenario
  • Provide bug scrubs and code recommendations
  • Provide an interface to TAC, internal development teams, and the customer
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners
  • Attend key partner events and training sessions, and provide ongoing training with the customer teams globally
  • Maintain professional relationships with teammates, partners, and clients
  • Deep listening skills, customer empathy, humility, and competence are key attributes we seek in a candidate.
  • Some travel may be required within the assigned territory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and above
  • Network Industry Certification preferred (e.g. CCIE (R&S), JNCIE, ACE-3,4, 5,6,7)
  • 5+ years of experience working in security or wireless, including 2+ years working in a sales or consulting role
  • Demonstrated experience as a Network Consulting Engineer or as an Advanced Systems (AS) Engineer preferred
  • Expert knowledge in the networking infrastructure areas: TCP/IP protocol stack, IP Routing, BGP, VxLAN/EVPN, Campus, and Networking Security
  • In-depth knowledge in at least one area of Data Center or Campus related technologies -
  • Native Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Cloud Security, and Linux tools
  • DevOps skill for network automation is highly desired
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, and the ability to do related documentation
  • and ticket tracking of opportunities/meeting follow-up

Additional Information

Compensation Information:
The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $106,000 to $168,000.

Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection. The recruiting team can share more details during the hiring process specific to the role and location.
