Skills
- System architecture for scale, performance, and non-standard network environments
- Proficiency in multiple languages (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Strong ability to navigate and reason about complex, existing codebases
- Experience with distributed systems, databases, and real-time systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
- Focus on observability: monitoring, logging, and data management best practices
- Leadership, mentorship, and cross-team collaboration skills
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Top Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver well-architected, production-ready platform systems with clear interfaces and strong engineering practices
- Drive architecture across multiple platform layers including auth, databases, object storage, SDKs, and real-time command-and-control
- Champion testability, portability, monitoring, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in delivered software
- Perform and drive code reviews, design reviews, and mentor engineers across multiple teams (20–30 engineers)
- Collaborate and communicate effectively across teams to plan, execute, and deliver cross-functional projects
- Create novel technical solutions to challenging real-world operating and networking environments
- Travel up to 10% to collaborate with teammates and validate real-world operating conditions
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
