Sr. GNC Systems Engineer (Navigation, Positioning, Timing)
Skills
- MS/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 5+ years integrating GNSS, INS, vision, and other navigation technologies into automated systems
- Designing PNT system architectures for resilient navigation
- Developing Kalman filters and modern estimation techniques
- Pose estimation algorithm development and validation
- INS test and evaluation experience
- Proficient coding in C++ and Python
- Experience integrating and evaluating alternate PNT technologies and vision-based navigation
- Ability to work with customers to integrate subsystems into larger systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop and define PNT architectures and strategies to ensure reliable positioning, navigation, and timing in adverse environments
- Investigate and evaluate advanced PNT sources and alternate navigation technologies for integration into air, ground, maritime, and space platforms
- Test, characterize, and evaluate PNT sensors and subsystem configurations to inform system-level designs
- Implement and validate Kalman and modern filtering techniques and pose estimation algorithms for automated systems
- Support INS test and evaluation, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Contribute to design reviews, safety assessments, system documentation, and requirement traceability
- Work with GNC and systems teams to integrate PNT technologies into vehicles and broader subsystems
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders on subsystem integration and field demonstrations
Education
- MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong academic background in estimation, navigation, controls, or related disciplines
