Senior Tooling Design Engineer
Skills
- Production assembly and fabrication experience with composites and metallics.
- Detailed tooling requirements for composite manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical parts design using CAD and release via PLM.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods including machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, and injection molding.
- Ability to read and create GD&T drawings at a novice level.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support design team in new product and tooling designs.
- Execute tool designs using CAD software.
- Communicate tooling and machine access requirements.
- Coordinate critical features and tolerance stack ups across manufacturing stages.
- Select optimal production methods for parts, tools, or assemblies.
- Perform root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
