Skills
- Proven experience developing and executing test plans for complex autonomous or remotely piloted systems.
- Strong software testing skills, including validation and regression testing practices.
- Hardware integration experience in HITL and flight test environments.
- Data analysis skills to validate performance and drive corrective actions.
- Familiarity with autonomy-related programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Rust).
- Excellent verbal and written communication to present technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, iterative development cycles and adapt priorities.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret-level security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement test plans spanning acceptance, system, integration, and unit testing focused on the Altius UAS.
- Conduct and oversee flight test activities, including HITL benchmarks and real-world acceptance testing.
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and cross-functional teams to validate new features, fixes, and end-to-end functionality.
- Execute software validation and regression test suites to ensure alignment with mission objectives and system capabilities.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to assess performance and identify improvements; iterate rapidly with engineering teams.
- Create and standardize processes for testing system functionality and hardware/software integration suitability.
- Advance testing methodologies for Group 2 UAS to ensure robust performance in complex operational scenarios.
- Support travel to test ranges and work flexible hours as required for flight operations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or related technical field, or equivalent experience in robotics/autonomous systems testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret-level security clearance.
