Responsibilities
- Select and qualify suppliers for assigned products using approved supplier list and strategic evaluation criteria
- Partner with suppliers on concept scoping, joint design development, and clear statements of work
- Develop should-cost / clean-sheet models and lead all cost engineering activities to converge cost curves to product targets
- Create and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Quality & Manufacturing to enable internal and supplier production ramps
- Manage CAPEX needs through NPI and optimize value stream to reduce lead time and increase flexibility
- Conduct BOM risk assessments and identify alternate component sourcing and risk mitigations
- Ensure completion of component qualifications prior to production
- Drive commonality optimization and supplier/component rationalization to reduce complexity
- Handle ad-hoc cost issues including tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field (required)
- Master's or advanced technical degree (preferred)
