- Knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations and California-specific requirements
- Familiarity with 40 CFR Parts 260-279 (Hazardous Waste Management)
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Hazardous materials and waste handling procedures
- Ability to conduct and document safety inspections and audits
- Strong written and verbal communication for interacting with leadership and regulators
- Project and time management to handle multiple activities and deadlines
Responsibilities
- Assist with accident/incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Serve as EHS liaison to employees, managers, customers, auditors, and regulators
- Identify workplace hazards and document safety inspections for job tasks and work areas
- Collaborate across departments to guide, train, and influence safe workplace behaviors
- Manage hazardous waste handling, labeling, storage, and regulatory compliance
- Implement and enforce safety programs and standards including hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, LOTO, machine guarding, tools, electrical, and emergency response
- Support industrial hygiene, ergonomics, stormwater management, and air emissions compliance activities
- Maintain EHS records, support audits and inspections, and track corrective actions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant safety certifications or OSHA outreach training recommended
