Civil Design Engineer - Traffic and Transportation
Our firm is seeking a full-time, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Design Engineer to assist the Traffic and Transportation Department. In this position you will work in a team environment with other Design Engineers and under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer. The Design Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, and construction phase services of a variety of projects. They will work with various government agencies to obtain construction plans and permit approvals.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for project coordination between internal departments and stakeholders
- Responsible for agency coordination of reviews and approvals
- Review development plans to determine potential traffic impact
- Perform traffic impact analysis using various software packages
- Prepare traffic signal plans for agency approval and construction
- Design or prepare plans for intersection or roadway improvements, such as left and right turn lanes, on city, county, or state roads.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET Accredited Program
- In process of, or ability to obtain, Engineer-in-Training certification
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and possess an accommodating and proactive attitude
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
