Skills
- Strong Android development with Jetpack Compose, XML, Kotlin and Java
- Experience building data-intensive, map-centric UIs
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/UDP/Multicast), HTTP/REST, protobuf/gRPC
- Experience with ATAK SDK and TAK product ecosystem
- Backend/middleware proficiency in high-performance languages (C++, Rust, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and build systems (CMake, gradle, Docker, NixOS, CircleCI)
- Ability to translate user needs into practical UX and engineering trade-offs
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance (required)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy real-time map-based Android UI plugins within the ATAK ecosystem to display sensor data and control EW assets.
- Define and implement network APIs for telemetry, configuration, payload control, FMV streaming, and autonomous tasking.
- Collaborate with product designers, chief engineers, flight test teams, and end users to iterate on UX and capability demos.
- Develop backend and middleware components using high-performance languages and build systems; integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
- Test software across simulations, benchtop hardware, and live flight assets and iterate based on test and user feedback.
- Engage with the TAK developer community and use ATAK SDK to ensure compatibility and secure deployments.
Education
- Preferred: BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- Relevant practical experience in lieu of degree will be considered
- Must be eligible to hold and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
