Principal Mission Software Engineer, Robotics - Air Defense
Skills
- Extensive C++ or Rust development experience in Linux environments
- Deep knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and systemd/service management
- Systems integration across sensors, autonomy stacks, and networking
- Experience debugging complex real-world, multi-process/multinode systems
- Understanding of real-time constraints and time synchronization (chrony/ntp)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain core mission libraries (frame transforms, targeting/guidance, etc.) for Air Defense autonomy
- Own feature development and rollout across Air Defense products
- Design and implement sensor integrations for both human and autonomous planning agents
- Debug and resolve complex Linux networking, routing, and systemd/service issues
- Make pragmatic engineering tradeoffs to deliver scalable, deployable mission capabilities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and mission teams to deploy and sustain systems in operational environments
Education
- Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field typically expected; advanced degree preferred
