Skills
- Proven CAD skills, preferably NX.
- Strong understanding of structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms engineering fundamentals.
- MATLAB/SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE experience.
- Manufacturing knowledge including machine shops, sheet metal, CNC, and rapid prototyping.
- Hands-on prototyping skills including machining, welding, and soldering.
- Ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive mechanical systems and platform development from concept to low rate production.
- Lead technical efforts to define requirements and evaluate mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure system reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct design reviews, analysis, vendor visits, prototyping and hardware testing.
- Enhance team tools, processes, and standards.
- Foster a positive and educational team environment.
- Balance subsystem operational needs with development speed and manufacturability.
- Support hardware demonstrations and travel to test sites as needed.
Education
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
