Electro-Mechanical Engineer (PCBs/Motors/Robotics)
Skills
- PCB design and ECAD (Altium, KiCAD, etc.)
- Hands-on prototyping (soldering, board assembly, harnessing)
- Experience with motor/servo drive systems and controls (BLDC/brushed)
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and power conversion
- Ability to read and manipulate schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts
- Use of first-principles physics for engineering analysis
- Experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical systems including PCBs, motor controllers, and mechanisms
- Perform trade studies and physics-based analysis to evaluate concepts and inform design decisions
- Build prototypes, run failure analysis, and transition validated designs into production
- Lead design reviews, define and execute hardware test plans, and support customer demonstrations
- Identify and manage vendor and industry partner relationships
- Travel to test sites and visit vendors as required
Education
- BS, MS, or PhD in an engineering field or equivalent work experience
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret security clearance
