Financial Planning Specialist

Position Description
The Financial Planning Specialist plays an essential role in the firm, providing operational and administrative support to financial advisors to ensure a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment. This individual provides client relationship support through managing, gathering, and analyzing client data; preparing preliminary financial plans and other client deliverables; preparing new accounts; conducting account transactions such as money movement and trades; and collaborating with clients to resolve issues and other practice management tasks as needed. The Financial Planning Specialist also responds to ad hoc requests, and coordinates and tracks business-as-usual projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist financial advisors with daily activities, including maintaining calendars, preparing correspondence, and providing customer service.

  • Provide clients customer service in person and by phone, such as facilitating and resolving client service requests.

  • Prepare and review new account documents.

  • Prepare and review documents for all client meetings.

  • Manage sensitive and confidential information responsibly across multiple platforms.

  • Maintain administrative functions of the office, such as monitoring office supplies and mail.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Traits and Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete assignments independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extremely high level of attention to detail and organization.

  • Effective and efficient time management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and public-facing interactions.

  • Committed to providing exceptional, professional customer service in person, by phone, and via email.

  • Ability to adhere to industry rules and regulations as stated and required by the advisors and Ameriprise Financial.

  • Maintains a positive and collaborative attitude.

  • Maintains discretion with confidential information.

  • Comfortable working as part of a team.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with CRM systems

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66, and Florida 2-15 Life, Health, and Variable annuities.

  • Two years of experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
