This position is part of a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 500 - Provost & Enrollment Division. Job Description:

Summary:

The Coordinator, AU Cornerstone is primarily responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions of the AU Cornerstone Program. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and executing a variety of programs and social, academic, and developmental events for prospective and current students, and coordinating all aspects of the AU Cornerstone program. The Coordinator also contributes to the execution of the University College Living-Learning Community and promotes engaged learning at AU.

Essential Functions:

1.) Academic Integration

  • The Coordinator supports the academic components of the AU Cornerstone Program, ensuring alignment between coursework and experiential learning. This includes collaborating with faculty to support the Gateway to Greece course and the Internship Practicum, assisting with course logistics, student engagement, and academic success initiatives.

  • The Coordinator also oversees grade and conduct coordination, tracks student progress, and ensures academic policies and procedures are communicated effectively to students and faculty.

  • Additionally, the position assists with program assessment and evaluation by gathering and analyzing academic and student success data.

2.) Career Development and Advising

  • The Coordinator plays a key role in supporting AU Cornerstone students—particularly those in the Internship pathway—by helping them explore career opportunities and develop professional skills. This includes advising students on career exploration, professional development, and goal-setting, as well as supporting them in identifying and securing internships.

  • The Coordinator assists students with resume development, interview preparation, and workplace readiness.

  • Additionally, the position coordinates career-related programming in collaboration with the Career Center and other campus partners, connects students with alumni and professionals relevant to their career interests, and organizes workshops and employer engagement opportunities that align with student career aspirations.

3.) Student Engagement and Community Building

  • The Coordinator provides direct support to AU Cornerstone students, offering individual guidance on academic, social, and personal challenges to foster a sense of belonging and success in the program. This includes proactively checking in with students, addressing concerns, and making appropriate referrals to campus resources.

  • The Coordinator develops and implements programming that strengthens students’ connections to one another and to their chosen pathway experience, such as planning and executing program-wide events during Orientation.

  • The Coordinator works closely with AU Abroad to support students before departure and during their time abroad.

  • Additionally, this role may also include hiring, training, and supervising student employees who assist with program activities.

4.) Program Administration

  • The Coordinator manages the daily operations of the AU Cornerstone Program and supports the University College (UC) Living-Learning Community. This includes overseeing program-related forms, administrative processes, and program logistics.

  • The position is responsible for managing and maintaining program databases, tracking student participation, and analyzing data to support program assessment and evaluation.

  • The Coordinator also collaborates with Housing & Residence Life on room assignments and student concerns and partners with AU Abroad on pre-departure sessions, on-site visits, and student support while abroad.

5.) Communication and Partnerships

  • The Coordinator manages communications and partnerships to enhance student engagement and program visibility. This includes developing and implementing communication strategies, managing marketing materials, newsletters, website updates, and social media content, and overseeing front-line communications by responding to inquiries via phone, email, and other platforms.

  • The Coordinator fosters and maintains strong relationships with key campus stakeholders to support engaged learning. This includes collaborating with representatives from AU Abroad, Housing & Residence Life, the Career Center, and First-Year Advising to align resources and initiatives

  • The Coordinator also organizes and leads regular meetings to ensure ongoing communication and coordination among these partners.

  • Additionally, the Coordinator manages the AU Cornerstone Closet, alumni and ambassador programs, and other initiatives with campus partners.

6.) Special Projects, Committees, and Other Duties as Assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time.

  • 35 hours per week.

  • Occasional weekends and evenings.

  • This position is eligible for hybrid work modality.

Salary Range:

  • $26.47 - $27.54 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Full-time experience, graduate assistantships, and undergraduate student leader roles are all considered relevant experience.

  • Minimum one year of experience working in an office environment.

  • Must be able to assist with the physical set up and breakdown of events equipment, including the ability to lift up to 30lbs.

  • Must be able to manipulate small objects distributed to students and other stakeholders for outreach purposes (e.g., gift bags, brochures).

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience working at an institution of higher education.

  • Experience coaching/advising college students.

  • Strong knowledge of career development theories and counseling techniques.

  • Experience in designing and delivering career development workshops and training sessions.

  • Experience leading and implementing programs and events for college students.

  • Experience creating and distributing communications.

  • Understanding of college student development.

  • Experience working in an environment striving to incorporate anti-racist practices.

  • Experience interpreting and utilizing assessment results to make informed decisions.
