Senior Director of Content

ATL UTD (Atlanta United) is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Content to lead the organization’s content strategy and distribution across digital channels. This leader will manage and develop a high-performing content and video team, tasked with bringing the ATL UTD brand to life across digital / social channels driving audience growth / fan engagement / and revenue via content creation across owned channels utilizing the creator team and the Emory Healthcare Studio at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground.


The ideal candidate is a creative, data-driven strategist with deep expertise in social media and digital platforms. They should have a proven ability to collaborate across department sand have the ability to maximize the impact of each channel, execute brand content, partner content, ticketing efforts and grow audiences by delivering forward-thinking, platform-specific strategies that support growth + revenue objectives.

Success in this role will be measured in two main areas

Cultivating new fans and deepening the connection with our loyal fan base Key revenue results through impactful storytelling


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Exemplify the overall AMBSE core values.
  • Based on the overarching brand strategy, define the overall vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital content development and execution.
  • Lead content strategic planning and execution. A key component will be ensuring thinking starts from a strategic brief and includes alignment across key stakeholders (brand, broadcast, communications, PR, partnerships, sporting operations, ticketing).
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to identify trends and relevant technology, opportunities, and areas for expansion.
  • Build reach and scale with new audiences while deepening engagement with existing fans.
  • Collaborate with marketing and analytics teams to track performance and optimize content.
  • recommendations, approvals, and execution support.
  • Collaborate with corporate partnerships on sponsored content strategy.
  • Collaborate with ticketing and marketing operations to understand revenue goals needs and strategic recommendations, approvals, and execution support.
  • Consistently align content development with revenue opportunities and broader business goals.
  • Forecast and oversee the department’s budget.
  • Manage, develop, and inspire a forward-thinking content team, including talent such as podcast hosts, digital hosts, and content creators.
  • Manage content-related crises with discretion and sound judgment, ensuring timely, accurate, and brand-safe responses.
  • Must be willing to roll up the sleeves and be an active participant in the work.
  • Oversee ATL UTD social team that handles daily management of owned channels, including posting, responses, and community moderation.
  • Oversee ATL UTD video and studio team that handles production of video assets for branded content, partner content, and ticketing content and other projects as needed.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence / Analytics team to understand data / tracking and be able to turn that data into strategic recommendations to meet the organizations business goals.
  • Provide mentorship and support to ensure consistent, high-quality output while fostering growth opportunities for staff.
  • Protect the reputation of the company and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing quick-turnaround projects and high-volume content needs.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in digital content strategy and creation, with a proven track record of using content to drive brand and revenue objectives.
  • 4+ years of experience managing talent and high-performing teams.
  • Deep ability to understand analytics and data and how to dissect them to make decisions that drive our business forward.
  • Deep understanding of audience drivers, marketing channels, and how they intersect with content strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of digital and social platforms, with expertise in understanding how best to leverage different types of multimedia to drive audience growth, engagement, and revenue impact.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire cross-functional alignment.
  • Eye for content quality across copy, visuals, video, and storytelling, with a commitment to innovation, industry awareness, and detail-oriented execution.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and resolve complex problems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong grasp of social analytics tools and related platforms (e.g., Blinkfire, ScorePlay, StatsPerform, ClipPro, WSC, Asana).
