- Non-linear editing proficiency (EDIUS or similar)
- Live newsgathering and live-streaming experience
- Solid news judgment and on-air composure
- Ability to generate creative, engaging live shots and short-form digital content
- Comfort working under deadline pressure and shifting assignments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate news vehicles
Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality video and audio for news, sports, feature and documentary-style stories
- Shoot and edit content for television, social media and mobile platforms under tight deadlines
- Operate ENG trucks or IP/video-based live units (e.g., TVU) for live coverage
- Perform live on-air and live-stream reporting when assigned
- Attend editorial meetings, pitch ideas and collaborate with reporters/producers
- Use graphics and audience-sourced media to enhance storytelling
- Safely operate news gathering vehicle and transport equipment to locations
Education
- BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field preferred
- Or equivalent years of newsroom experience (acceptable in lieu of degree)
- 1-3 years newsroom or photojournalism experience preferred
