Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate newsroom coverage during breaking news with accuracy and urgency
- Plan daily story coverage and curate content across digital, social, streaming and broadcast platforms
- Create, edit and publish engaging content for website, mobile app and streaming channels
- Edit reporter content for accuracy, grammar, AP style, fairness and digital best practices
- Guide newsroom logistics and provide editorial support to MSJs, producers and photojournalists
- Enhance stories with creative elements such as graphics, video and audience-submitted content
- Use audience metrics and social listening to inform coverage and improve reach
- Support overall newsroom operations and uphold TEGNA journalistic standards
Education
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated newsroom or digital production experience
