Senior Director, Equity

Affirm is a consumer finance company reinventing credit to provide transparent, fee-free buy-now-pay-later solutions. The Senior Director, Global Equity & Payroll will lead and scale the company’s global equity administration and payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, balancing operational excellence with large-scale transformation, driving policy, technology and compliance for a fast-growing multinational workforce.

Skills

  • Deep expertise in global payroll operations and multi-jurisdictional payroll compliance.
  • Extensive experience in equity administration and equity plan platforms (e.g., Schwab).
  • Proven track record leading large-scale system implementations and functional transformations (e.g., Workday).
  • Strong SOX, audit and internal controls experience for payroll and equity.
  • Executive-level stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience managing vendors and sizable transformation budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global strategy and roadmap for payroll and equity administration supporting multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Manage end-to-end global payroll and equity operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of pay cycles and equity events.
  • Design global policies, governance, and technology roadmaps to scale operations and maintain compliance across new and existing markets.
  • Lead, mentor and grow cross-functional teams including direct reports and senior managers for payroll and equity administration.
  • Own vendor relationships, transformation budgets, and major system implementations to drive cost-effective solutions.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous internal controls (SOX), serve as primary contact for external audits related to payroll and equity.
  • Partner with senior leaders across People, Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and IT to align payroll and equity strategy with overall business goals.
  • Drive change management for international expansions, M&A integration and significant systems/process changes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or professional certification (CPA) preferred.
