Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering II in Chicago, IL.

Job details:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. assisting traffic engineers and project managers on projects related to traffic capacity analysis, feasibility studies, traffic modeling, traffic operations, safety analysis, traffic impact analyses, traffic calming, signal design, signal timing, signal systems, ITS design, engineering cost estimate and other related traffic engineering/ITS work.
  • May telecommute

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field.

Position requires:

  1. Microstation, GEOPAK, AutoCAD and ProjectWise;
  2. Performing safety and operational analysis;
  3. Traffic analysis applications Synchro, and HCS;
  4. Power BI;
  5. ITS and traffic engineering;
  6. Industry standards including Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and MUTCD;
  7. Applying the policies of the IDOT BDE Manual; and
  8. Engineering in Training certification or ability to obtain one.
