Your Role:

The Director of Monitoring and Compliance is responsible for supporting ongoing monitoring through record-keeping and reporting systems and ensures compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, Accreditation and childcare licensing requirements. The incumbent serves on the delegate Senior Leadership Team and works collaboratively with senior leadership to build a culture of excellence and accountability.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee monitoring of all centers to ensure full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, state licensing, accreditation, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate across service areas to improve operational systems, efficiency, and alignment with program goals.
  • Lead health and safety compliance efforts, including regular monitoring, timely resolution of issues, and coordination with the Director of Operations.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to leadership on compliance, licensing, and quality improvement efforts, including corrective action plans.
  • Build strong relationships with licensing and accreditation authorities to support ongoing compliance and timely renewals.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to attendance, enrollment, and licensing by developing and executing action plans with site leadership.
  • Support the implementation and accountability of the Self-Assessment System for Continuous Improvement and Evaluation (SASCIE).
  • Lead, supervise, and develop assigned team members, ensuring effective communication, project execution, and adherence to policies and timelines.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities and contribute to ongoing monitoring and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as an active leader within the Acelero, Inc. community—aligning with organizational values, contributing to strategic initiatives, and representing the organization in internal and external leadership spaces.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience required; education experience preferred; experience with managing licensing or accreditation a plus; educational industry experience is a plus with Pre-K or previous Head Start experience being ideal.  
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.  
  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.  
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
