Virtual Career-Technical Education Support Specialist

ACCEL Schools, a large public charter school network serving PK-12 students, is hiring a Regional Ohio Career-Technical Education (CTE) Support Specialist to strengthen CTE and Career-Based Intervention (CBI) programming across schools in the region. The specialist will provide guidance, compliance support, employer and community partnership development, and professional learning to CTE instructors and school leaders to expand student opportunities and align programs with Ohio Department of Education and workforce needs.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Ohio CTE program requirements, CBI, and work-based learning models
  • Experience building and maintaining employer and community partnerships
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CTE data collection, reporting, and compliance processes
  • Ability to train and facilitate professional development for educators
  • Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and traveling regionally

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and higher education to expand work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, and job-shadowing.
  • Monitor labor market trends and align CTE pathways to in-demand careers.
  • Support development, implementation, and monitoring of CTE pathways and Career-Based Intervention (CBI) integration.
  • Assist schools with compliance, audits, reporting, and data collection for CTE student enrollment, performance, and credential attainment.
  • Serve as a regional thought partner and resource for CTE and CBI instructors and school leaders without direct supervisory authority.
  • Identify curriculum, equipment, and resource needs and coordinate with national teams.
  • Deliver professional development, share best practices, and ensure consistent communication between schools and the national CTE office.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Career-Technical Education, Workforce Development, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Active Ohio Professional teaching license required or ability to obtain
  • CBI endorsement required or ability to obtain upon hire
