Responsibilities
- Design and model database schemas and data structures to support enterprise financial and administrative systems
- Develop, test, and maintain application features consistent with technical specifications
- Participate in Agile team ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and developers to translate requirements into data designs and implementation
- Implement performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization
- Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes for database changes
- Document database architectures, APIs, and system configurations for maintainability
- Conduct unit testing, peer reviews, and assist QA with defect resolution
- Ensure compliance with VA cybersecurity, Section 508, and data protection standards
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering/technical discipline preferred
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
