Staff Engineer
Skills
- Strong full-stack development across Next.js (React/TypeScript) and Python APIs
- Designing and operating media pipelines (ingest, processing, preview, render/export)
- System design for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Experience with CI/CD, testing (Vitest, Pytest), and observability
- Familiarity with GCP, Vercel, Railway and cloud compute orchestration
- Integrating and orchestrating external AI/media APIs and compute services
- Performance and cost optimization for media-heavy workflows
- Comfort debugging across frontend/backend boundaries and complex browser constraints
Responsibilities
- Ship end-to-end features across Next.js frontend and Python API backend.
- Design and implement media creation systems: asset ingestion, processing, preview generation, rendering/export, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into scalable, maintainable technical implementations and own the outcomes.
- Apply 3D/game-dev tooling thinking to scene/asset graphs, deterministic pipelines, versioning, caching, and performance-aware workflows.
- Improve reliability and velocity via refactors, testing strategy, CI/CD, observability, performance tuning, and cost controls.
- Mentor engineers, provide rigorous reviews, and raise team engineering standards while remaining hands-on in code.
Education
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus but not required
