- Ability to explain prescriptions and product options clearly to customers
- Experience with inventory and store operational systems
- Strong customer service and sales orientation
- Reliable keyholder and store opening/closing capability
Responsibilities
- Provide direct customer service for eyewear needs, including consultations and product guidance
- Take and record precise measurements (PD, seg height), fit and adjust eyewear, and verify finished eyewear meets specifications
- Inspect finished eyewear against optical standards and customer prescriptions
- Act as key-holder: open/close store and maintain daily operational procedures
- Support store leadership by driving sales, answering operational questions, and executing store vision
- Lead and mentor the Optical team, including participants in the Optician Apprentice Program
- Maintain inventory systems, store databases, and general business operations
- Foster a positive, productive culture and model excellent service on the floor
Education
- State dispensing optician license where required or ABO certification in non-licensing states
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional optical training preferred
- Ongoing continuing education in optics or related certifications encouraged
