At People Tech, we help, support and empower the HR department with technology and solutions to improving productivity, harnessing the opportunities for growth, focusing on well-being and cultivating cultures of belonging to all Walmart's associates. Walmart People Tech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Technical Program Manager directly reporting to the Senior Director of TPM. You will be responsible of spearheading some of People Tech’s key projects, managing and leading communication with customers, stakeholders and engineering teams.

What you'll do...

As the Distinguished Technical Program Management for the Associate Lifecycle team, you will lead strategic initiatives, drive product innovation, and enhance customer experience across our platforms. This role requires a strong combination of business acumen, data-driven decision-making, and technical awareness to shape the future of our enterprise solutions.

Vision & Leadership:

  • Provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs, developing, communicating, and implementing business strategies. Analyze costs and forecasts, determine resource requirements, evaluate processes, measure outcomes, and promote a customer environment.
  • Extract insights from data analytics, guide data extraction to drive product decisions, and demonstrate best practices in data analysis.
  • Lead discussions with audiences, leverage data insights, demonstrate decision skills, and serve as a trusted advisor on product/technology matters.

Driving Customer/Client Needs

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, identify needs, and create scalable processes to gather and analyze customer experiences.
  • Design and implement new barrier-free processes, coach team members, and develop strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce.

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Develop product requirements for complex customer problems, build new strategies, identify value creation opportunities, and define success metrics.
  • Promote product strategies and vision, drive go-to-market strategies and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Own and develop roadmaps, mentor team members, manage roll-out using an MVP approach, and develop partnerships to maximize business goals.

Technology Orientation

  • Drive business and user acceptance testing, manage adoption of new technologies, understand high-level systems architecture, and demonstrate awareness of techni cal topics.
  • Leverage technical knowledge for product design, manage product lifecycles, develop alternative technology solutions, and design integration processes for products.

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to lead large-scale enterprise programs with a strong vision, executive presence, and a track record of delivering business outcomes through cross-functional influence.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of enterprise systems architecture, product development lifecycles, and integration patterns; able to engage credibly with engineering and data science teams.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with experience extracting insights from complex datasets to guide strategy, prioritize roadmaps, and measure impact.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into scalable, high-impact product solutions, driving continuous improvement across the associate experience.
  • Product & Program Management Excellence: Expertise in building and executing product strategies, MVP roadmaps, go-to-market planning, and leading through ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
  • Change Leadership & Team Development: Experienced in leading and mentoring high-performing TPM teams, fostering innovation, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to align executives, partners, and teams around a common vision.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Minimum Qualifications...

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
• Option 2: 9 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Certification in Project Management., Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 5 years’ experience in product design., We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
