Senior Electrical Engineer

Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security and space technology company building mission-critical spaceflight systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead design, test, integration and operation of spaceflight avionics and electrical hardware, ensuring robust power, data handling and harness solutions for flight and ground systems.

Skills

  • Design and integration of spaceflight electrical systems and avionics
  • Custom isolated DC-DC converter and power electronics design
  • PCB schematic, layout and fabrication file generation
  • Power electronics modeling and simulation (e.g., LTSpice, PSIM)
  • Custom magnetics design (transformers/inductors)
  • Test & measurement using oscilloscopes, meters, spectrum/logic analyzers
  • Experience with space-grade, radiation-hardened components and NASA specs (EEE-INST-002)

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of space-qualified electronics including power supplies, power distribution, command & data handling, sensors, and flight computers.
  • Oversee PCB design, schematic capture, layout, footprint creation, and generation of fabrication/assembly files.
  • Author technical documentation: assembly instructions, test procedures, interface requirements, and test reports.
  • Perform and supervise electrical testing and qualification using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, logic analyzers and electronic loads.
  • Manage component and hardware inventory, traceability and configuration control for electrical systems and test equipment.
  • Provide design reviews and feedback to payload developers to ensure compliance with Voyager and NASA requirements.
  • Support proposals with technical approaches, cost and schedule estimates, and solution definitions.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (QA, Flight Ops, Systems Verification, Safety) during development, manufacturing and qualification.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
