Responsibilities
- Design and build complex opto-mechanical systems and components for industrial metal 3D printing.
- Integrate high-power laser sources and high-speed camera/imaging solutions into system architectures.
- Create detailed opto-mechanical drawings and documentation using GD&T and ISO 10110 standards.
- Develop and own precision alignment processes, procedures, and supporting software tools.
- Plan and execute optical test and characterization, selecting equipment and pass/fail criteria.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to resolve physics-based interdependencies and produce robust, scalable systems.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- Formal training or coursework in optics/photonic systems recommended
