ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is seeking an Entry Level Civil Designer & Technologist to join our team in our New York, New York office.
VHB’s NYC office is a dynamic growing office with a variety of passionate engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who provide a broad range of engineering and environmental services to public and private clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
Responsibilities:
• Participate as part of multi-disciplinary teams assisting with the preparation of plan details and outlines, cost estimates, analyses, and calculations in support of broader engineering activities • Support preparation of routine technical reports• Prepare sketches and calculations for site plan designs, including grading and drainage• Support the Sustainability and Energy team on a wide variety of decarbonization and clean energy projects that range from conducting energy modeling to decarbonization calculations.• Work with the technology team to identify and develop digital solutions and technology enabled workflows that enhance key services and deliverables for VHB. Key technologies that will be used include Geographic Information Systems, Model Based Design/Building Information Modeling, Computational Design, and Big Date/AI.

Qualifications• BS in Civil Engineering• 0-1 years of professional civil engineering experience• Experience with ArcGIS, Python/SQL, Rhino/Grasshopper, Databricks/AI, and Autodesk/Bentley preferred.• EIT/EI preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $80,000- $87,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
