What you’ll be challenged to do:
As a Bridge Designer, you will support the design and evaluation of bridge and transportation structures across a range of project types. You’ll contribute to developing construction documents, performing calculations, preparing cost estimates, and assisting with inspection reports. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, growing your technical skills through hands-on work and collaboration with experienced professionals.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Assist in the preparation of bridge design plans, construction details, and specifications.
Perform design calculations for new and rehabilitated bridge structures.
Support quantity take-offs and cost estimate development.
Conduct load rating analyses and help prepare associated reports.
Participate in bridge and tunnel inspections under supervision; contribute to inspection documentation and reporting.
Support construction-phase services, including reviewing shop drawings and helping to track contractor submittals.
Help prepare technical sections for proposals and reports.
What you will bring to our firm:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
3–5 years of bridge design or related structural experience.
Experience with bridge design, load rating, or inspection work.
Familiarity with structural analysis and design software such as AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, STAAD Pro, or similar.
Working knowledge of CADD tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation for plan development.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks across projects.
Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
What we prefer you bring:
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Interest in pursuing licensure over time.
The salary range for this role is $88,000 - $105,000; Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
