Responsibilities
- Evaluate, triage, and stabilize emergency and critical care patients across overnight shifts
- Perform emergency surgeries, wound repair, and anesthesia where indicated
- Interpret diagnostics (radiographs, ultrasound, in-house Idexx labs) and develop treatment plans
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about diagnoses, prognosis, and treatment options
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
- Document medical records, treatment plans, and discharge instructions accurately
- Participate in on-call and holiday shift rotations as scheduled
- Engage in continuing education and contribute to practice quality and improvement initiatives
Education
- DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
- State Veterinary Board license in good standing prior to start date
- Willingness to engage in continuing education
