Responsibilities
- Provide triage, emergency medical care, and stabilization for urgent and critical cases
- Perform soft-tissue emergency surgeries and assist with other surgical procedures as needed
- Interpret diagnostics (radiographs, ultrasound, labs) and develop treatment plans
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about conditions, treatment options, and prognosis
- Document medical records and maintain accurate case notes and billing information
- Collaborate with technicians and support staff to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
- Participate in hospital meetings, huddles, and team-building activities
- Maintain continuing education and stay current with emergency medicine best practices
Education
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Active state veterinary license (Florida) or ability to obtain licensure
- Continuing education in emergency medicine encouraged and supported
