Skills
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems
- Experience with RTOS and real-time system design
- Device driver development and peripheral protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
- Familiarity with Embedded Linux and microcontroller architectures
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
- Understanding of secure boot and security best practices for firmware
- Scripting experience (Bash) and familiarity with Python/Go
- Debugging skills with hardware tools (JTAG, logic analyzers) and test automation
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain microcontroller firmware (C/C++) for access control devices
- Develop and maintain device drivers, RTOS integrations, and peripheral interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART)
- Implement and validate secure boot and security-focused firmware features
- Integrate firmware with Embedded Linux components and cloud-facing services
- Work with BLE stacks and wireless connectivity features
- Write automated tests, debug hardware/firmware interactions, and optimize performance
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, QA, and product teams to define and deliver features
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture and design reviews
Education
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or related field
- Graduate degree (MS/PhD) in a related field is a plus
