- Mastery of Python or Go
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
- Experience with key-value stores (Redis, Memcached)
- Experience with distributed queueing (Kafka) and caching
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Familiarity with React (for working with frontend teams)
- Experience with gRPC and API specifications
- Willing and able to work onsite five days per week
Responsibilities
- Design scalable control planes and core data primitives across Verkada products
- Build and operate distributed systems handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices
- Develop microservices and spin up new services in a microservices architecture
- Implement robust access, user, role, and audit capabilities for large enterprises
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and SRE teams to define APIs and service contracts
- Optimize performance, reliability, and security of backend services
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
