Job Details:

Purpose

The social media coordinator will be responsible for creating social media content across various social media platforms for the Office of the Dean of Students. This role involves pitching and producing content while maintaining brand consistency across all social media channels.   

Responsibilities

Develop engaging content for social media platforms including copy, images, and videos.

Pitch content ideas to the communications team and execute approved strategies.

Capture photos and videos for social media posts that follow University branding guidelines and voice.

Organize, edit, and submit content to the communications team.

Stay updated on the latest social media trends to capture consistent and relevant content.

Must be approachable and confident while directing and engaging with event attendees to capture both candid moments and posed shots. 

Required Qualifications

Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, X and Facebook

A portfolio of work showcasing a range of styles and techniques.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Ability to attend events, occasionally outside of regular hours.

Position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, receptiveness to feedback, and the ability to produce results with limited supervision.

Full or part-time undergraduate student.

Proficient in video editing software such as CapCut and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

    The Communications Team will interview selected applicants.
