About Epsilon Health
Epsilon Health is spearheading a new era of radiological innovation with our AI-powered “Radiology as a Service” (RaaS) model. By integrating cutting-edge multi-modal AI—combining medical imaging and language models—we address the global radiology shortage and push the boundaries of diagnostic efficiency, accuracy, and affordability.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Founding Machine Learning Engineer with deep expertise in vision-language models, large language models (LLMs), and computer vision. You will be at the forefront of designing and implementing advanced AI architectures that unify radiological imaging data with textual context—enabling precise diagnoses, streamlined reporting, and personalized patient insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Multi-Modal Model Development
• Research, design, and deploy state-of-the-art vision-language solutions that combine imaging modalities with LLM-based text understanding.
• Develop scalable architectures for image-text alignment, semantic representation, and knowledge extraction.
2. Advanced AI Research
• Lead experimentation with few-shot, zero-shot, and fine-tuning techniques to optimize performance on medical imaging tasks.
3. Integration & Deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—radiologists, engineers, and product managers—to integrate AI modules into our RaaS platform.
• Implement robust pipelines and MLOps practices for productionizing large-scale models in healthcare environments.
4. Team Leadership & Mentorship
• Hire, mentor, and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and research excellence.
• Define best practices in data processing, model training, and performance evaluation for high-impact medical applications.
5. Clinical Collaboration
• Work closely with healthcare professionals to refine model outputs and ensure solutions align with clinical standards.
• Drive continual improvements in diagnostic accuracy, efficiency, and interpretability.
Qualifications
• Academic Background: PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field; or equivalent industry/research experience.
• Vision-Language Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in multi-modal machine learning, including LLM-based text processing and computer vision.
• Technical Mastery: Hands-on experience with Python, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and large-scale model training pipelines.
• Research Portfolio: Publications, open-source contributions, or notable projects in vision-language or foundation models highly preferred.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of effectively communicating complex ideas to diverse teams.
• Healthcare Drive: Genuine passion for improving patient care through ethical and responsible AI solutions.
Why Join Epsilon Health
• Pioneer Medical AI: Be at the forefront of revolutionizing radiological workflows through multi-modal AI.
• High-Impact Research: Lead innovative projects that could reshape the global approach to diagnostic services.
• Collaborative Environment: Work with a team of domain experts dedicated to pushing boundaries in healthcare AI.
• Competitive Rewards: Receive a compelling compensation package, benefits, and equity in a fast-growing startup.
Join Epsilon Health and play a pivotal role in transforming the future of medical imaging and diagnostics through the power of vision-language models, LLMs, and computer vision. We look forward to your expertise and leadership in bringing next-generation radiology solutions to life.
